Meander Resurrected!

Welcome, one and all, to the grand re-opening of Meander Where You May!

Disgruntled NYT posters, this is it! I cannot actually BELIEVE those dolts are coming across with this "you oughta be grateful" routine! "We've maintained these forums at no cost and great expense with no profit yadda yadda yadda." Do they think we're STOOPID or what? Never mind that they used the books forums in particular as a commercial attraction for YEARS. I can't believe they think everyone is going to PAY to use their LAME ASS site when blogs are FREE all over the Internet.

Grouse, all ye who enter here, and Meander Where You May.

And let us know who you are from Books if you use a different screenname!

Happy Meanderage!

It so happened that I have a Google Account, but maybe some of our Meanderers have not?

Cheers,

Hi Becky, guess who?

Thanks for taking this on. You're a trooper. I would ask you to be careful, though, with the possibility that someone may try to get your blog blocked by posting inappropriate content, ie copyrighted stuff. You and I both made some enemies at the times and they could try to do you in.

Hi karl.

Don't worry, roads. I am going to try and be vigilant. Listen, you guys, don't get TOO graphic, okay? I don't want to have to delete anyone's posts and make them angry.

This page is intentionally left blank

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS????? This NYT BANNED ME for posting links to my blogs and I suppose because I wasn't adequately GRATEFUL for all the "time and expense" - jerks!

Whoops - I was just working on a docuement at work and accidentally pasted part of it into my last post!

Looking over at Roady's profile...Roady, I didn't know you like orchids. Do you grow them?

Sure thing - more than happy to oblige. I am going to try to set up various topics over here as well. Give a bit of time....

Anyway, welcome. I'm glad you decided to come over and join us.

Hey BP,
Good to see you alive and kicking! Not sure we ever spoke directly over on the good ol Gray Lady, but we sure saw each other's names from time to time.
More power to you with this place!

Glad to see this going bparton, I am shocked [although I don't know why!] they banned you for something like that. What?, they're afraid of the competition...! LOL
bushla over there.

Yup. Ya'll know I'm bad bidness. Great to all of you, my friends.

Ya'll should try to post our links over there in books another time or two, with my e-mail address in case someone has trouble getting into this site, which is mccaa454@comcast.net.

They deleted ALL my posts with the links, I think. I agree that it is the perfect culmination for my NYT personality - Years of controversy and never even got a warning. Guess they do think I'm gonna give em some competition. I returned, briefly, as desdemona222b, but alack! Poor dessie is gona too, now!

I am not in a New York Times state of mind . . . .

Wait - maybe I can post without a name. That'd be cool, leave you all wondering just who tha masked man was!

Anonymous said...

Okay, be that way. ;)

Latest news - turns out I wasn't banned after all. I know everyone has just been sitting on pins and needles about this, so just thought I'd let you know.

Well, you know, I have enemies too, becky. And of course any enemy of yours is an enemy of mine.

Personally, I can't help but think that the whole NYT Forum fiasco could have been avoided if just a few more of us had gone to see The Dreamers.

I grow about 300 orchids (might be more. Haven't counted lately) across several genera. They're so much fun and easy to grow once you find the way that works for you. My partner built me a greenhouse and I'm in there everyday. It's really an addiction.

To make matters worse I going to try hybridizing some this year, and have the seeds grown by a woman who does it cheap. Don't tell David, though. He's mad because he wants to move into a condo (no more yardwork) and I've only put two stipulations on it: there must be a greenhouse or sunroom attached, preferably facing south, and three bedrooms so I can still have my sewing room. He's convinced we'll never move.

Well, Anon, not too hard to figure out who YOU are.

Don't listen to them when they tell you you can format with html - I tried just to get a laugh, and couldn't get the site to accept them no matter what I did.

LIARS!!

Okay, so let's talk some more about roads' favorite topic - Mozart! I am SUCH a troublemaker.

Roady, my sister's brother-in-law's girl friend (a close connection, obviously), does quilts that she sells for a small fortune. She has a quilt on display at the Yosemite National Park museum. Hope you enter your in shows.

This "Publish Your Comment" is a dicey business. I find myself scrolling uPPP and scrolling DOwn...uPPP and DOWnnnn.

Happy April Fools Day!!

So now we see that they meant just two survivng book groups, one to vote, one to discuss. The suspense is over.

Anonymous said...

I knew that all along, peder, because the "Books Reading Groups" is at the top of the Books Forums list.

Bunch of JERKS - I feel the same as whiskey - boycott the damn website.

Some of us are just sleepy, which is what a lot of the other swift ones over there have been trying to tell me I guess.
So, back to sleep. :)

When the NYT Book Forum disappears, will folks gravitate here?
